Since there is no 3rd party app and it's just a plug-and-play, it makes the product convenient and easy to use anywhere. I purchased this to help with any issues that appear in the ear. So this product is really quite good and a lot for the money, I think. It is a bit difficult to get objects in focus due to the close distance to objects, but the light on the probe is very helpful. The one problem I have with the unit is that the probe has no indication of how to orient it so that movements of it correspond to expectations (if you move it to the right, the image moves to the right, etc.). It is surprisingly difficult to use if you don't get it oriented correctly (e.g. move right and the image move up). But if you experiment a bit, it's doable. Just a wee bit of a pain.

I was very hesitant to purchase it as there are so many different versions on the market. I have to say that we are very pleased with this unit. It is very easy to operate, no hassles with stupid menus, etc.. Only one fault that is not really of any importance, but the unit needs a firmware update as the on-screen icons are inverted. You don't look at them at all so no big deal. The camera is in the form of a pencil. I took some nail polish and placed a little dot on the pencil as to the up direction of the camera. that way you always know which way is up. The quality seems very top-end, the camera is solid and shows great resolution. We love the large screen and I recommend to anyone looking to buy an electronic otoscope to give this your utmost attention. I would definitely buy this again. The package comes with a myriad of attachments, charging cable (USB-C), and memory card. Packaged very Professionally. Buy this one! You'll like it!

Got advice from my audiologist, selected your device as it seemed to cover all attributes I was looking for and did not need my cell phone for use. It worked as advertised and I'm very pleased with it and gave me the info I needed to have my ear wax removed by a professional. I use it weekly or sometimes more often to check on ear wax but have not yet needed to use the little scoops that attach to the camera.
